Wow, 2011 really set its trademark in my life as one of those years i can easily replay month by month. I can’t believe how much has happened in the matter of 1 year: my life changed completely. In the beginning, I knew that it was going to be an incredible year, lucky #11 has set its place in my heart as something very special, and what do you know, I reflect back now in 2012, thinking how 2011 really blew my mind….
2011 was change. It was my father fighting every last breath he had to live his life. It was pulling our family apart to bring us closer together again even more. It was making important decisions and learning how to let go. It was numerous hospital visits, life lesson, and endless emotions. We cried, we laughed, we loved, we learned, and we cried some more. Rest in Paradise, dad, i love and miss you so much…. 2011 was goodbye, followed by a bunch of hellos. It was birth to a new generation: Leo, Max, Miles, Taliya, and Rocco, and so many more. 2011 was joy. It’s being a Godmother to two more boys: Max and Miles. It’s babyland! 2011 was change. It was getting accepted into Evergreen’s Nursing Program. It was a celebration much needed. It was thinking about everything I could do before I get locked down for 2 years. It was living it once. 2011 was Las Vegas…. if I could say that 7 times, I actually could. It was being free and acting free. It was quality time with long time friends and new friends. Everynight was a party, sleeping when the sun comes up, and waking whenever the moon lit. It was drugs, sex, and alcohol. 2011 WAS Sin City. It was also live shows, and music festivals. It was finally giving electronic music sub-genres a chance and appreciating it. It was having several favorite DJs and enterting numerous All Style Battles and Bonnie & Clydes. It was battling Whinnie the Pooh in the most amazing RORDS of the FROOR battle in the bay! It was making it to finals in 3 battles, but only winning 1…..It was all too much fun to be disappointed. 2011 was setting my goals as an All Styles dancer, it was learning new shit, and putting down in every cypher I could. It was giving myself a name.  2011 was change. It was closing the door of one chapter in my life to move on to the next. It was goodbye to my friends at my workplace, twas bittersweet. It was planning my life for 2012, and celebrating my 3 decades on this planet…. all of which have been amazing so far. 2011 ended in Las Vegas with my closest friends and family.
2011 was celebration for change that felt like a year long party….. 2012…. what’chya got cookin? cause it’s been pretty darn surreal so far :)
I am truly blessed. Thank you 2011.

when I try to explain to people how the Holy Ship cruise to the Bahamas was… I just tell them it’s EDC on a boat and on a private island…. with the best DJs, and all the luxuries that comes with  cruise ship including free food, and the option to take naps in your own bed or do wardrobe changes into something more comfortable in between partying….. in other words, a damn surreal experience.

here’s a glimpse.

monologue

“Break up, break down. Drunk up, fool around. Meet one guy, then another, fuck around. Forget the one and only. Then after a few months of total emptiness start again to look for true love, desperately look everywhere and after two years of loneliness meet a new love and swear it is the one, until that one is gone as well. There’s a moment in life where you can’t recover any more from another break-up. And even if this person bugs you sixty percent of the time, well you still can’t live without him. And even if he wakes you up every day by sneezing right in your face, well you love his sneezes more than anyone else’s kisses.”

- Marion from 2 Days in Paris

I struck gold on Netflix with this movie, “2 Days in Paris.” This film, alone, carried my 2 loves: a well-written script and Paris. I LOVE the script to this movie, Julie Delpy, the writer and who also plays the Parisian turned New Yawker main character, gives it that W.A. feel with the witty one liners with a philisophical undertone. She and her American bf, Jack, played by Adam Goldberg, go through life of a relationship when one is brought back to the roots of another…. culture clashy, awkward, witty, and relative. I give it my kudos!
